Wallenstein garden, Prague

4.6
Take a short breather from your tour of the city with a visit to Wallenstein garden, a sprawling Baroque park on the left bank of the Vltava River. The palace, constructed in the early decades of the 17th century, now houses the country's senate and offers only limited access to visitors. The garden is open to the public daily, so you can stroll along its neat pathways or feed the ducks at its picturesque pond. Be sure to visit the "sala terrena," a richly decorated garden pavilion overlooking a fountain and a row of bronze statues representing figures from Greek mythology. • Arrived today and found a closed sign papered on the door. The website shows it should be open. Very upsetting. People spend their limited vacation time based on the published information. Come at you...  more »

  • A beautiful garden and grotto. The peacocks drew a lot of attention, especially the pure white one. We visited in the spring when all of the tulips and daffodils were in bloom and this added to the beauty of this garden. Sitting in front of the grotto (dripping wall), you could see faces and animals appear from the stone - a wonderful experience. The statues and sculptures were lovely. All around, a very nice experience for a warm day in Prague.
  • Extremely soothing and beautiful, it invites you to sit down and let your mind wander while being surrounded by nature and beautiful architecture. I also saw two peacocks that were wandering around freely. I highly recommend coming here to find some peace!
