Loket Castle, Loket

#1 of 6 in Things to do in Loket
Must see · Historic Site · Castle
Founded in the 13th century, Loket Castle seems like an illustration ripped out of a book of fairy tales. Just a short drive from Karlovy Vary, the castle is surrounded by the Ohre River. Thick walls gave the structure its nickname, the "Impregnable Castle of Bohemia." The fortress serves as a museum and national monument--every year, the town's opera festival uses the castle as its pretty backdrop.
