Dominated by the eponymous 16th-century basilica, Plaza de San Francisco is a popular meeting point near Havana's harbor. Restored in the 1990s, the square is known for its architecture, cobblestone pavement, and a 19th-century white-marble fountain with lion statues, carved by sculptor Giuseppe Gaggini. Sit back and relax at one of the cafes with a refreshing drink, admire the preserved colonial buildings, and watch the cruise ships approaching the Sierra Maestra terminal. • Both impressive and lovely place. It combines church, commercial buildings from the bygone era and park. Good place to sirt down and enjoy the Old Town of Havana.
