The ruins of The Forum seem to sprout directly from the city's alleys and streets. The ancient forum dates back to the 1st century BCE--during the Roman period, it was the center of the area's religious and civic life. One intact column remains, which in the medieval times served as a shaming post for criminals, who endured public humiliation by being chained at this spot. The Forum reviews
-
The Forum in the centre of S Zadar is a lovely and interesting place to walk around. There is nice architecture and ruins to look at and we were told they run events during the evening in the summer..... more »

One of the remaining proofs of the age of Zadar. The remains of the Forum are rather scarce, but there are markings of colums, remnants of building parts etc. Nice and very calm place. more »
