Port of Rovinj, Rovinj

4.5
Watch boats come and go and fishermen fix their nets while sitting on harbor walls at Port of Rovinj. The port features historic and natural marvels, including the Lemme Channel, a Mediterranean fiord. Stroll through the narrow lanes and soak up the atmosphere of one of the last true Mediterranean fishing ports. Sit in one of the many cafes and enjoy views of the water on one side and Old Town on the other. See Santa Eufemia Cathedral, which welcomes sailors from the headland. You'll also find bathing areas as you explore. Make Port of Rovinj a part of your Rovinj vacation plans using our Rovinj day trip planner .

  • If there's one place I care about most, it's Rovintop. I have been there several times and now I know every corner of this incredible city. I could write a book about it, I think. Considered the pearl of Istria, Rovinus is located on a small peninsula, formed by a set of buildings that if we look from above form a spiral staircase, where at its top we find the church of Santa Eufemia. A convenient parking lot is located right in front of the commercial port, to the right of the peninsula to understand, it is for a fee but if you do not want to go a long way, I suggest. Shortly after parking, you can find the market square, during the summer period you can find it every day. I recommend buying some local products, such as oil, honey, cheese or wine, trust me, you will not regret it. In the middle of the market, start a route that will take you on a scenic tour and reach the top of the church. There are numerous local shops and apartments along the streets. Once you reach the top, take a break at the bar, sip an aperitif with a sea view. Visit the church and if you have 3 euros to spend, ask to climb the bell tower, I warn you that the stairs to climb are still from the '800, seriously, those who suffer from vertigo better stay on the ground, the stairs are quite steep. For those who get to the top, the view is breathtaking. Going down you will arrive at the port, where along the whole pier you are spoilt for choice for a place to eat. I mean, there will be 15 restaurants, one better than the other. The proposal is generally always the same, so much so that in some menus you will find the same images of another restaurant, but trust me, you will eat well everywhere. Obviously advice of good fresh fish!! As activities or excursions the port is the perfect place, you will find numerous proposals that will fill your days. Just outside the country, in the pine forest area, hotels arise, and that hotel, take a look at it, but usually Rovintop is a bit expensive. In the pine forest area you will also find a huge park that skirts the sea, in fact here is the ideal place to swim, there are plenty of small beaches. In the summer Rovin'o is very active, especially in the evening, the offer is really wide. Great wedding venue. If you're passing by, stop one night. Two small goodies: along the streets below the church, you will find a glimpse between two palaces, there is located a shop of colorful clothes. You will recognize this glimpse as you find numerous photos on the internet and on various social networks. So much so that the lady of the shop, now known, sets up an outdoor window with her clothes, and provides a coffee table is a chair, where you can take a picture. Another treat is a small restaurant placed at the end of the street, under the church and in the direction of the port, I miss the name, but it is particular because you will find yourself eating in a typical house, in fact it has only three tables, it is welcome reservation. Rovine is magical and unique!!
