Give something back to Costa Rican wildlife while learning more about endangered animals at Monkey Park, a refuge center for sick and injured wild animals. Monkey species, including spider monkeys, share a home with marmosets, macaws, and ocelots at this facility. What the park lacks in terms of bells and whistles, it compensates for in goodwill, putting all proceeds towards maintenance of this vital wildlife rescue center. While the park is nonprofit and pro animal welfare, the sight of creatures in enclosed cages may still upset some people. A visit to Monkey Park represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Tamarindo trip itinerary maker to plot your vacation.

The name monkey park threw me off because there were only 2 monkeys in the whole place but it was nice to see these injured and neglected animals taken care of. Not sure if it's worth the $20 entry fee but I guess to each their own.
Well cared for animals, the staff seems truly interested in working to release these animals back to the wild. That said, you never know what animals will be there to see, ultimately I am sure the staff would hope all animals were gone from this sanctuary. Their goal is to help these animals recover and be released.
