Parque Gallineral, San Gil

#4 of 35 in Parks in Santander Department
Wildlife Area · Nature / Park
The town's centerpiece, Parque Gallineral is an urban forest with a mystical atmosphere. Set on a triangular island between two rivers, the park offers 4 hectares (10 acres) of hiking routes through lush vegetation and across flowing rapids on attractive, secluded bridges. Adding much to the feel of the place, drooping arms of silvery moss hang from the branches of the trees, catching the light and creating an otherworldly sight. Relax after a long walk with a swim at the pool or grab some refreshments from the onsite restaurants and cafes.
