Primera Iglesia Bautista, San Andres

Perched atop a hill, Primera Iglesia Bautista features sweeping views across nearly the entire island. Originally constructed in 1847 with pine wood imported all the way from Alabama, the Baptist church very much recalls the look of the American South, with its paneled exterior and red roof. Pay a visit to the historical building, which can seat close to 1,000 people, and explore its spartan interior, complete with dark wood furnishings and an upper level of pews. Afterwards, you can climb up the spiral staircase within the steeple to get an even better panorama of the surrounding landscape and ocean. • A little pricing for entry, but climb to the top of the Tower to check out the views. Short video on the history and not much else to see in the church outside the view  more »
  • It was my first time in Baptist church - and it’s beautiful, tiny, welcoming. The tower is so small that three people have literally squeeze in it side by side. The view of the island is astonishing.  more »
