Trip Planner: South America / Colombia / San Andres and Providencia Department / San Andres Island / Rocky Cay
Gaze out over the multicolored waters at Rocky Cay, a small beach in the Caribbean. As you stand on the shore, notice the beach's distinctive shipwreck, close enough to swim to. Bring snorkeling gear to make the most of the colorful marine life swimming through the crystal clear waters, and take a pair of water shoes to protect your feet from the coral poking out of the sea floor. Keep an eye out for iguanas slinking around underneath the palms trees, just waiting to be photographed. Work out when and for how long to visit Rocky Cay and other San Andres Island attractions using our handy San Andres Island itinerary site .
Rocky Cay Reviews
Alejarse unos metros de la cuerda que guia la caminata hacia el cayo para nadar ida y vuelta varias veces no tiene precio! Es uno de los mejores lugares de playa (pocas) de la SAI. more »Getting away a few meters from the rope that guides the walk to the cay to swim back and forth several times is priceless! It is one of the best (few) beach spots in the UPS.
Rock Cay in turn is very beautiful, a small island, worth the visit, but make no mistake that can go on foot to the island, arrives a stretch of about 10 meters that has to go swimming, the water is very quiet, but as I did not know how to swim (then Learned on the island eheheh), I chose to pay a transport to the site. Very beautiful there, I saw people climbing on the ship, do not know how they did, if they went through boats, jet ski etc... A lot of show there.
Nice place but very touristic. I definetely recommend a tour during week days and avoid weekends.
This place is a hot dump. Beach is eroded and nasty. There are beaches echelons above this one elsewhere on this island. Do not stay at the apartments they have there. They are disgusting and people stay up every night til 4am blasting music and having loud conversations to talk over the loud music. Colombians somehow still sweat this place. They must not travel much.
