Trace the evolution of art in Colombia from pre-colonial times to the present day at Museo de Antioquia. Placing a strong emphasis on local works, the museum houses a range of pieces by Medellin duo Pedro Nel Gomez and Fernando Botero, with more than 200 of the latter's distinctive works on displays. Don't miss Botero's almost comically misshapen sculptures and paintings, in which the artist purposely exaggerated the curves of the body to create grotesque "fat" figures. Compare Botero's works to other Colombian artists on display and ponder what statements he might be making. Museu bem interessante localizado na região central. Do segundo andar é possível ter uma bela vista da praça. more »Very interesting museum located in the central region. From the second floor it is possible to have a beautiful view of the square.
Great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the streets below. Good variety of works in the different halls. I saw pieces from as early as the 1700s all the way to 2016
Great modern art museum in central downtown area of Medellin. Arrive at San Antonia metro station and look for Botero sculptures. Entrance is 18000 pesos and there are 3 floors of artworks to view. Allow yourself at least one to 2 hours.
