View the artwork of a church-turned-museum at Museo Santa Clara. This church was built in 1647 and is considered to be one of the best examples of Baroque architecture in the city from its time. Originally belonging to a female religious community, the church became a museum in 1983 and now features a collection of artwork. Inside the structure, you can appreciate the fabulous ornate art on the ceiling and look for colonial pieces by famous artists like Gaspar and Baltasar de Figueroa and Agustin Garcia Fox Useche. The church also displays mural paintings throughout the halls and contemporary art exhibits. • Such lovely walls of Mudejar design. Walk the tunnel by the confessionals. Out of place, noisy native game in center.  more »
