  • This majestic museum based in Bogotá Colombia and located in Santander Park, has the largest collection of pre-Hispanic goldsmiths in the world. with approximately thirty-four thousand pieces of gold. The Museo de Oro exhibits unique pieces from different Colombian indigenous cultures and alternates these collections with traveling exhibitions of equal historical and cultural value.

  • This museum is fascinating look at the uses of gold and other metals in Colombia and South America. Trace the history and see beautiful masks, nose rings and other artifacts from the indigenous peoples. The museum cover 4-5 floors and is very well laid out. There is a special sensory exhibit near the end of the self paced tour. It is a must see if you are in Bogota.
  • I was originally hesitant on going to this place but after doing the free walking tour and the reviews about how good it is I decided to give it a chance. I have to say it is definitely worth the money considering it's actually very cheap to get into this museum. The place is well organized and is in somewhat of a chronological order but it's definitely in order as to what parts of Colombia the gold came from and the people that made it.
