Cerro de Guadalupe, Bogota

4.5
Rising a full 15 m (49 ft), the statue at Cerro de Guadalupe dominates the landscape from its 3,300 m (10,827 ft) peak. Hike up the unpaved road with a guided tour, or take a cable car to the top and survey the whole of Bogota as you ascend. Once there, marvel at the statue of the Virgin of Guadalupe, the work of Bogotan artist Gustavo Arcila Uribe. Several earthquakes, the last one in 1917, destroyed the original 17th-century hermitage that stood here.
