Stroll along The Bund (Wai Tan) to become one with Shanghai's bustling crowds and take in views of the city's glittering skyline. The buildings lining this waterfront walk represent a broad variety of architectural styles, such as Gothic, Baroque, and Beaux-Arts. Take photos at the flood-control wall affectionately called the Lovers Wall and in front of the famous skyscrapers, including the Pearl Tower, whose pillars and spheres pierce the sky. The buildings on the other side, deco style are also remarkable. China had such a prosperous period that this area was called the Wall Street of the East. By the way, China is very prosperous, no more communism, it's ancient history, long live capitalism!
Merveilleuse balade à faire de jour et de nuit pour un souvenir inoubliable Shanghai Je recommande vivement more »Wonderful day and night walk for an unforgettable Shanghai souvenir I highly recommend
The classic Old Shanghai in its glory. You can see the contrast of old & new Shanghai or China as it represents. The night walk is better than day time in my opinion to enjoy the area. But be aware of the weather as pollution is quite apparent in major city like Shanghai. From here you walk towards Nanjing Street to enjoy the night Market & shops just within minute walk.
Very hard to describe this place and what you feel. The words coming the closest to that are overwhelming and breathtaking. On the Bund side itself, there is a huge mix of buildings’ architecture coming from all over the world and is magnificent. On the other side of the Bund you face the Shanghai skylines and you just feel a very small tiny person very appreciative that you are there at that moment!
