Wong Nai Chung Gap Trail, Hong Kong

#18 of 31 in Trails in Hong Kong
Hiking Trail · Hidden Gem · Nature / Park
Take a walk through history on Wong Nai Chung Gap Trail, Hong Kong's first battlefield trail. Opened in 2006, the route passes an old anti-aircraft battery, a couple pillboxes, and a former bunker complex. You'll find plenty of informational signage and photos detailing the short but intense fighting that took place here in December 1941, when Japanese forces overran Hong Kong's defenses. Stroll past the cricket court, a symbol of calmer times, to the park, where you'll find pedal boat rides, drinks, and a cafe with a terrace. Take the guesswork out of planning a Hong Kong vacation by using our trip itinerary maker.
