Constructed with a combination of Tibetan and Han Chinese styles, Lama Temple (Yonghegong) represents a Buddhist monastery and the best-preserved lamasery in modern China. Built in 1694, the site initially served as a residence for court eunuchs, but was later converted into both an imperial palace and a monastery for monks of Tibetan Buddhism. Inside you can find many interesting works of art, such as three displayed bronze Buddhas, a white sandalwood statue of Maitreya Buddha, sculptures of Arhats in different sizes and positions, and large frescos decorating the walls. You can also purchase many souvenirs and quality incenses at the temple. • There is a lot of Buddha statues in the entered of the entrance and smell of incense. The view from the Korean temple is very different.

  • An island of calm in suffocating Beijing! A great place to relax, despite the ubiquitous people praying around. On a 3 or 4 day stay in Beijing to visit this temple was the best decision!)) Nearby is the temple and the academy of Confucianism, where you can also go if you want.

  • Lama temple is very beautiful and serene! There is a quiet stillness as you move around the premises! It is opens daily from 9am-4:30pm. The cost is 25 yuan to enter. Very inexpensive! The architecture is so detailed and breathtaking. People come here to worship. I really enjoyed visiting and I highly recommend when you visit Beijing.
  • The temple of temples, for sure. Serene and massively spread out, worth your time. We were here for the lunar new year - it was -7 degrees C and crowds I have never seen before, which added to the grandeur! Must see!
