  • Could not visit the inside of this museum as it was closed on the day I visited the neighborhood. From the outside, it looks unappealing but the inside could be totally different.  more »
  • Highly recommended! This is a great museum. You can see precious items that are from all over latin America. I wish I could have spent more time here. I spent about 2 hrs and weren't enough! Rich history and culture. You can learn much from reading the descriptions.
  • While most exhibits have more information in Spanish than English, there is still a decent level of information available in English next to the exhibits. The museum broadly covers Chile, and surrounding regions, before 1500. It is well curated, with different rooms representing different regions and periods of time. The ground floor has temporary exhibitions. As of December 2019 this was a display by Sheila Hicks, whose work with fibres was inspired by precolombian weaving techniques. The museum has clean bathrooms, lifts between floors, a cafe and gift shop. Entry is 7000 pesos (~£7/$10) for adults and half price for students.
