Valle De La Luna, San Pedro de Atacama
With bizarre, spectacular rock formations created by erosion--and not a tree in sight--the twin valleys of Valle De La Luna feel like another world. Their names translate respectively as "Valley of the Moon" and "Valley of Death," fitting labels for such distinctive places. Let your imagination run wild as you traverse the moonscape terrain, but remember that the laws of gravity still apply. You can access the valleys by taking a tour from nearby San Pedro de Atacama. Valle De La Luna Reviews
A sensação de estar no Vale da Lua é de estar realmente no deserto, mas com cenários lindíssimos, de uma imensidão inimaginável. more »The feeling of being in the Valley of the moon is really being in the desert, but with beautiful scenery, an unimaginable immensity.

There are several different landscapes in the same place, amazing.
Welcome to terrestrial Mars... a stunning landscape displaying a gamut of sunset shades, pitted and whittled down by the harsh winds of the Atacama. Valle de la Luna provides an excellent 360 degree vista of the variety the desert has to offer, from caves, to hills, to valleys, to dunes. Although the sunrise provides a worthwhile view, the sunset is just lovely and draws quite an audience. A jacket and long pants to keep the sand from exfoliating your skin right off, a blanket for a comfortable perch along the ridge, and some hot coco or wine, will make for a surprisingly peaceful and majestic experience, even with the abundance of bodies. Highly recommend, especially if you have your own vehicle and the flexibility that comes with it.
This is a wonder. One of the most beautiful places I have been to. It feels like you are walking through a story, or a dream. And there is ample reason why it is called the Moon Valley. This was the highlight of my visit in the Atacama Desert.
