  • Watch out to those who wish to go to the reservoir, because we this weekend 14/07/2019 could not reach the top, since Carabineros closed the road by "rolling". Similarly there is a road sign that says it is closed from April to August. The Carabinieri should be lower so as not to climb at all, and the path is quite narrow above, so turning around is more difficult. So so they're not going to "turn around" better call the Pirque's stationery to find out if he'll be able to leave or not

  • Embalse El Yeso is the artificial lake that supplies Santiago and the drinking water region. Visit with tours organised by various tourist agencies, which leave early in the morning of the central region of Santiago. We were picked up at 6:30 a.m. in our hotel and returned at 16h. It is common to hold picnics on the banks of the dam. The place has an amazing scenic beauty, and the colouring of the water changes conforms to changing weather conditions. On the way there are other attractions, such as the El Tinoco tunnel, but the high point is, in fact, the dam. Highly recommended visit.

  • Nice scenery, you will take beautiful pictures at this place. Very relaxing. I did it in the summer and it was nice. I would be scare of doing it in the winter just because there are some very narrow roads. However if you are going to an experienced driver, this should not be a problem.
  • Visited this wonderful location twice whilst on a trips to Santiago. We went both times with a great company called Ski total and arrived at the location after approx 2hr drive out of the city. The scenery is truly breathtaking and stunning with plenty of wonderful photo opportunities. There is a mobile refreshment van a short walk away if your feeling a bit peckish and a picnic area with toilets a short 10 min drive away. It really is a must visit location if visiting Santiago.
