See a piece of Chile's history at Parque del Estrecho de Magallanes, built in 1843 after the Republic of Chile took possession of the Magellan Strait and surrounding area. Named after the president at the time, the wooden fort was reconstructed in 1943 and has since opened to the public. Explore the complex, built entirely out of wooden logs, and see the church, jail, post office, a small museum, and old cannons. Standing on top of the small hill, you can enjoy the views of the rocky beach and sea below.
