I had a lot of fun discovering and walking around the vineyards, the winery, and the cellar. The guide was very funny and reliable. The vineyards are very beautiful and surround the whole winery... more »
It’s located between San Antonio valley and Casa blanca. Actually, it takes an hour and 30 mins by car from Santiago city. I felt so peaceful when I got there. I attended winery tour after arrival. I recommend you to register for winery tour in advance as Matetic vineyard is quite popular for people. Matetic vineyard is organically cultivate grapes with bio-dynamic agriculture which is regarded as a form of organic farming. You can sample a couple of wines during tour. After finish tour, you can also buy their wine at the reception. I would recommend you to buy some bottles of wine because it’s hard to find out Matetic wine in the city. And it’s much more cheaper!!
First impressions of Matetic Vineyards are calm and serene. Chilling out in the beautiful courtyard is very peaceful. The Rosaria valley which is owned by the vineyard is picturesque. We went on a guided bike ride. Christopher the guide was very knowledgeable and told us about the growing of the vines and the other agriculture in the area. Included is a tour of the winery. We had a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide called Justin who talked us through the organic and biodynamic ethos of the vineyard and finally we had a tasting. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable, luxurious, a great shower and the wifi is pretty decent. The food is very good and the breakfast spread is great with the best juice we have ever had. The only reason I dropped a star is that we don't feel it would be good for a long stay unless you are prepared to pay for lots of extra excursions. We visited in winter where the pool is freezing so we didn't really have that as an option which is probably why we felt this way. Overall a great stay, thanks Matetic!
