  • This is a rich and rewarding museum that communicates its messages well. The exhibits comprise Manitoba through the ages using a straightforward, well thought out time line approach. You glance at the province through its fossils, dinosaurs, original people culture, the arrival of the French and Hudson Bay Company. At each point of historical emphasis the museum provides context, details, science where appropriate. And all is explained in clear and readily understandable prose and thoughtfully selected images. The most notable exhibit must be the full size replica of Nonesuch, Hudson Bay Company’s first ship. Nonesuch is beautifully displayed in a small port where you can climb onboard and up into the small shops in the village. We appreciated virtually all of the museum’s exhibits, however. Visiting the Manitoba Museum is a terrific outing.
  • Great museum, fun place to spend a day learning about Manitoba's history. Layout is a bit of a maze and I got lost a couple of times, still a fun experience. They also have a great planetarium with interesting guided shows.
