Immerse yourself in the history of the city at Museum of Vancouver, which focuses on connecting visitors and residents with the area's history and postulating ideas for its future development. Trace the city's history through the site's various permanent exhibits, which narrate the 20th-century economic boom and subsequent housing market crisis. You'll also have the opportunity to take in the museum's collection of colorful neon signs, once a common sight throughout the city. Museum of Vancouver Reviews
There are numerous interesting displays recording the growth of Vancouver since the end of the 19C. We also received an illuminating half-hour talk on the Haida exhibition which does much to illustrat... more »
Start with local indigenous history then walk through scenes, set-up like life-size dioramas, of the post-colonialization moden city starting in the 1850s. more »
Thank-you Museum of Vancouver for offering free admission on Family Day! I have always loved history and Vancouver history in particular and I always enjoy a trip to the museum. It would be a dream job to set up and maintain all of the exhibits. Excellent current exhibits on "The Wild Things" and the Haida people. I am glad we went and we look forward to our next Museum of Vancouver outing.
Not quite what I expected. A larger part or exhibit when I visited, was something like "Vancouver 2050", which envisions Vancouver some time in the future, but overall reminded me of an art gallery on a bad acid trip, with random words being sporatically announced in the background, and sometimes semi-complete displays. Another part or display in the museum at the time was a 1950s themed area. It was pretty interesting. Overall, this was quite unlike the handful of other museums I have been to.
