Schooner Cove, Tofino

#3 of 22 in Beaches in Vancouver Island
Beach · Nature / Park
Take a scenic hike in Vancouver Island's Pacific Rim National Park at Schooner Cove. This relatively easy trail runs 2 km (1.2 mi) and alternates between gravel, stairs, and boardwalks. The trek starts in the forest, where you'll find large mushrooms, lush trees, and peculiar creatures like the banana slug. The last section of the trail delivers you to a quiet, clean beach, where you can explore pools at low tide. Remember to wear good hiking shoes, and be especially careful of slippery stairs and rocks. Also be aware that tides change quickly, so take caution when exploring the beach. Take a look at our Tofino trip itinerary website to schedule your visit to Schooner Cove and learn about what else to see and do during your holiday.
