  • Sylvan lake is nice and shallow for quite a ways out. Good for little kids that way! We did find it very busy and parking cost can add up when your travelling with family. But there's other options...  more »
  • Drove up here from Calgary. We were visiting from Ontario and were missing our lakes. This town is a smaller version of Wasaga beach. One area were beach is a good size but the rest is very narrow...  more »
  • This is a beautiful fresh water lake in central Alberta very close to Red Deer. During summer there is an influx of tourists here. There are shops, restaurants and a few hotels. It looks very lively and festive. There are seats placed at intervals on the road facing the lake with lovely flower pots encouraging tourists to take in the quiet beauty of this huge Lake. In summer people like to swim, use their yacht or boats, camp nearby etc. There are some impressive lake front houses . It's a great place to visit as a day trip or even stay at the Hotels in SylvanLake. As it's only 22 minutes from Red deer you could stay there too. It takes an hour and half to travel from Edmonton to Sylvan Lake. It's a wonderful place to visit with family and friends.
  • Amazing trails, lots of space and beautiful women! Stores and restaurants near as well as the beach. Stretches along to Rotary Park with a massive light house... So much character in this space. There is a historical tale told by placards placed along the trail, which I have captured for your viewing pleasure!
