  • December is not the best time of the year to visit this place as the village, reminiscent of the different activity houses you'd visit during Festival du Voyageur, was not operating. Nonetheless, I genuinely enjoyed myself and I am really glad we took the time to explore this part of Manitoba and its history. I don't think you could truly understand Manitoba if you don't know about its Mennonites. It took me a couple of hours to take in the exhibits of the new museum space, the fancy clock exhibit (have never seen rope mechanisms before), and check out the beautiful wooden beams of the old (it looks like an arc!). You can now rent the space for events and there was a party happening there the evening I visited.
  • One of my good friends came out to visit from our home town (Nanaimo, B.C) She wanted to visit the museum and I had never been (I've lived here for 4 years) so we made a day of it. Most of the attractions are out doors, so visit on a nice day (which we did) We leared a lot and it was very interesting and fun to walk through the buildings. The gift shop has a lot of nice homemade items to choose from. The resaurant was closed when we went so we didn't get to try the food. I loved interacting with the animals. Lots of babies and the animals were happy to let us pet them. The workers we encountered were very nice and friendly. Thank you for the lovely experience 😊
