Appreciate both the history and greenery of Queenston Heights Park. Stroll across the flat grassy grounds, dotted with plenty of trees, and don't miss the centerpiece of the park, a 56 m (185 ft) monument to Major General Sir Isaac Brock. Sir Brock, one of Canada's heroes of the War of 1812, was killed in battle on this site. Climb the 235 spiraling stairs to a lookout with views of the surrounding area and Lake Ontario. The park is also the beginning of a trail leading to Tobermory. A very nice park that leads to the wonderfully wooded Bruce Trail. Good tennis courts, a nice restaurant with seating under a canopy, public washrooms, gorgeous trees, a children's play area, nice walks, and a beautiful view down to the river. The monument to Brock is impressive (and, for Canada, incredibly old) even if the celebration of a British imperial officer is doubtful. Of less doubt: a celebration of the indigenous Six Nations - - allied to the British.

Gorgeous view at any season! People forget that there's more than just THE FALL in Niagara region. Take Niagara Parkway all the way to the Niagara-On-The-Lake. This is one of many gorgeous vista points on a short gorgeous car ride, or, for more fit ones, a bicycle ride. Enjoy!
