Le Vieux Pin Winery, Oliver

Winery / Vineyard · Hidden Gem · Food & Drink
Named for the solitary majestic old growth pine of their Oliver estate, Le Vieux Pin sits perched amidst the famed vineyards of the Black Sage Bench: Canada’s sole pocket desert, located in the South of British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley. Since releasing their first vintage in 2005, Le Vieux Pin has captured the essence of traditional French winemaking, along with the bold New World character distinct to the region. Considered by the national wine industry to be a leading Syrah producer, the winery uses low input viticulture and non-interventionist winemaking to make exclusive vintages that carry with them a sense of time and place. These fine wines can be savoured nationwide and internationally, at select culinary hot spots, gastronomical institutions and fine wine merchants.

The pine tree stands alone.

  • We love this winery, the wines are outstanding and staff are always very accommodating if you are ordering. The location feels very like a French winery and the tasting room is very intimate.  more »
  • Absolutely lovely. I felt transported to a land of vintage Chanel scarfs fluttering in a violet breeze. :) Our sommelier was funny, came down to our level, totally didn't make us feel inadequate...  more »

  • We had a pleasure of having the "old Al", and he was very friendly, funny and knowledgable of his wine. He made sure we had plenty of time to enjoy our wine and didn't rush us. Rose was by far our favourite, as it tasted clean and simple, yet so much aroma. Definitely a-must place to visit.
  • Le Vieux pin would be defined as more high end. Usually they only accept by appointment only but you could try dropping buy. Wine is amazing. Top level stuff. They practice old school wine making techniques. It varies year to year. Staff are very knowledgeable. Smaller tasting room but nice patio as well. If you love wine come here.
