Oakville Art Society, Oakville

Landmark · Hidden Gem · Tourist Spot
The Oakville Art Society is largely self-sustaining and relies on its members who volunteer their time and expertise to operate two studios and a gallery shop. Since its beginning, in a small white cottage rented from the town of Oakville located at Coronation Park, the Society has continued to grow. Now located at 560 Bronte Road, the Society’s building houses a gallery which displays and sells members work, a large painting studio and a complete potting and sculpting studio.

The Society exists with a charitable purpose to provide facilities and an environment where artistic skills can be developed and to encourage art appreciation. It provides art classes for adults and children of all ages during fall, winter, spring and summer. All OAS teachers are highly qualified in their field and medium. It facilitates presentation of local artwork through major art events each year.

The Society offers a wide variety of art related programs which appeal to people of all skill levels. There is space available for members to work on their creations and to socialize. Over the course of a year, hundreds of students, adult and children, discover the tremendous joy and excitement found in artistic expression.

Society members take an active role in the operation of the Society. It is only through this active participation that the Society is able to maintain its independent, self-supporting status, and foster a greater appreciation for art.

  • Fabulous classes and workshops, teachers really care and have extensive knowledge and take you step by step through every project. A lot if classes include all materials, easy parking(free).
  • The OAS has some of the best artist/ instructors in southern Ontario! Always good to hear positive comments "The workshop was hugely successful, we all really appreciated and loved your space, how accessible it was, everyone had enough room to work, clean wonderful bathrooms, excellent kitchen. It just turned out to be the perfect venue for a wonderful class. Thank you so much!"
