Berg Lake Trail, Mount Robson

A nice hike to a beautiful lake. The scenery gets better past Whitehorn. Some nice waterfalls on the way up; Emperor Falls is the best. The day hikes at the top are better than the Berg Lake trail.

Quite simply the highlight of our 4 week road trip around the Rockies. We just did the first leg of the Berg Lake trail up to Lake Kinny. As you can see from the photos, the scenery is simply beautiful. We're both late fifties, quite experienced hikers, but only moderately fit. We manage the hike out to Lake Kinny quite easily. There's enough people about to scare off the Bears, but I would suggest carrying Bear spray as a precaution. We visited in the first week of September and started the walk around 10:30 in the morning. I'd suggest doing the same else the sun will put a lot of the scenery into shadow. If you plan visiting the Rockies, please put this hike at the top of your list, you won't regret it.
