Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, Hamilton

Was here on Family Day holiday weekend so much of the space was given over to children's activities (lots going on for them!) and the planes had been squeezed up to make space. Still enjoyed getting up close to this great collection, and the Lancaster is just stunning. Keep up the good work, Canada!

Great little aviation museum right by Hamilton International Airport. Lots of open space to wander and view the planes at your own leisurely pace. There are a few planes you can actually sit in too. There are some planes being restored, some being repaired and some fully finished. It really lets you see what's going on on the insides. Very cool. There's also a gift shop with airplane models for purchase, clothing, books and some toys for the kids. There is a limited cafe styled restaurant too. It's a not-for-profit, private museum, so purchases at the restaurant and gift shop go towards keeping the museum operational.
