  • Our expectation was high. Visited the Chinese and Japanese gardens. It was a ok place to stroll in the evening. Nothing to look forward to!  more »
  • It was very beautiful by day but spectacular at night! We really enjoyed the attention to detail in the displays and would definitely come back again.  more »

  • There's a lot there, and it's not what you would typically think of as a garden. Many people go to the Japanese and Chinese gardens (I went to the Japanese garden and enjoyed seeing all of the koi fish), and it can also be fun to go through the fruit garden. However, my favorite was the shade garden, which is basically the woods, since not many people go there and it is a good escape from the rest of the gardens. The first Nations garden is basically a walk through the woods with some playgrounds, sculptures, and historical displays. I didn't go in the woods in the back half of the park, but I don't know why you would spend so much time there. Overall, plan your time!
  • A beautiful spot to visit. They have continued to make improvements and add more features. If you are visiting for the lanterns it is an excellent idea to purchase the tickets in advance. There are plenty of public washrooms throughout the gardens. Very easy to access by metro. Google maps reports that the walk is 16 minutes. It's much closer to 5 minutes at the entrance.
