Plain of Six Glaciers, Banff National Park

#4 of 28 in Trails in Banff National Park
Hiking Trail · Hidden Gem · Nature / Park
Plain of Six Glaciers offers awe-inspiring views, wildlife encounters, and the option to rest and refresh with a cup of hot tea. Moderately challenging and heavily trafficked, the hike starts at Lake Louise shoreline and finishes at the teahouse. Along the way, you'll pass tall cliffs ideal for rock climbing, an area with avalanche chutes, a narrow valley, meadows, and alpine groves. The last section of the trail near the ascent is quite steep and slippery, but the views from the top are well worth the effort. Note that dogs must be kept on leash.
