Nestled in the Columbia River Valley between the spectacular Rocky and Purcell Mountain ranges lies the Columbia Wetlands Outpost. Many of us call the Columbia Wetlands a living natural treasure because of it’s role as an essential eco-system, home to hundreds of animal species. What we also know is that the mighty Columbia River slows as it winds through the wetlands, setting the pace for us and all who seek respite here.

Guests at the Columbia Wetlands Outpost have an opportunity to experience a magical adventure, a chance to pause and soak in something that is eye-wateringly beautiful, exciting yet profound. Whether you prefer to explore endless tributaries, at your own pace, in a canoe/kayak or simply float gently down the Columbia on a guided cataraft tour is your choice. Stay with us for several days to experience even more of our beautiful surroundings at the luxurious Columbia Wetlands Outpost Lodge, or unique Columbia Wetlands Outpost Tepee and Timber tents.

  • We (six) had a great trip on the Columbia River from Radium back to the Wetlands Outpost! We took our time and did the 85km over 4 days (July 23-26 inclusive). Our group has been canoeing at various.....  more »

  • We had planned a trip out to Golden for a group ski at Kicking Horse. We brought a group of 16 guests and a family dog. The lodge was more than spacious, gorgeous and very accommodating. It was about a 30 minute easy drive to the ski hill and 15 minutes to Golden. We always had something to do, whether it was adventuring on the property to find snow shoeing paths or relaxing in the hot tub. We will definitely be back and would recommend it to friends and family.
  • Our family stopped in and walked the boardwalk. We did't have time to use canoes or kayaks but if we did, we would have for sure. This place is awesome for anybody but if you have kids, they would absolutely have a blast -- walking over floating docks and suspension bridge was fun. some docks are built to look like an old ship with portholes, masts, etc. it was hot spring day in June and the water was high so it would have been a great place to spend several hours playing in the water and/or canoeing/kayaking. (not just just for kids). Staff was super friendly.
