Historic Dunvegan tells the story of First Nations people, fur trade and mission history. This area has been an important gathering area to First Nations people for thousands of years. In 1805, Fort Dunvegan, a Northwest Company fur trade fort was established. After the Northwest Company merged with the Hudson's Bay Company in 1821, Fort Dunvegan became a Hudson's Bay Company post and remained in operation until 1918. Tours are offered daily from May 15 to Labour Day of four fully restored historic buildings. There is also a film presentation and gallery. A campground, market garden and day use area can be found nearby.
Historic Dunvegan is part of Alberta’s provincial network of historic sites, interpretive centres and museums maintained and operated by the Government of Alberta.

Absolutely gorgeous... From the water to the valleys to the big bridge, this place is made of magic. What's really nice is that it's beautiful in both summer and winter. Definitely recommend visiting if you're on your way to GP.
Beautiful setting on the river with very clean and neat grounds. Lots of places to picnic. The staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back!
