  • The park is amazing for waking or just relaxing by in the downtown of Calgary. There is a river where you can go and swim in summer. Very clean place and well maintained.  more »
  • We also went for a little hike to the Crescent Heights Lookout Point! Amazing view in the summer sunset!  more »

  • Love the serenity it's so easy to find here. There's something special about places of natural beauty with the knowing of a bustling city centre so close. The East point (downstream end) of the island is mostly wild. Favourite spot of Canada geese, hooded mergansers, mallards, and coots, Beaver, muskrat, weasels, and more. Watch for bald eagles and osprey on the hunt.
  • Beautiful urban park. Visited here from California. Nothing like it where I live. Bring your family and your dog. Frequently there are buskers, which I really like. Easy access from the CTrain. On another visit in June there were little goslings all over in the greens along with big parent geese guarding them. Lots of visitors photographing them (like me). Only downside is that there was gosling dung all over the walk and the greens. Had to go down the walk a bit from that area and clean my shoes with a tree branch fragment and walk in some other grass briefly before I walked back downtown. Canada Goose gosling feces on my shoes was a new once-in-a-lifetime experience.
