Must see · Garden · Nature / Park
Explore the plant life of Canada on a visit to Royal Botanical Gardens, a large plot of sculpted and cultivated land. Occupying an area of 980 hectares (2,422 acres), the gardens collect a large variety of wild plants of over 1,100 species, including the bashful bulrush--found nowhere else in the country--and the endangered red mulberry. Neatly landscaped with lakes, ponds, rock gardens, and herb gardens, the park offers many pleasant walking routes across its expanse. A visitor center provides a welcome introduction to both the country's natural heritage and the important conservation and scientific work performed here. • One of the things you wanna do when in Burlington / Hamilton is to go to the Royal Botanical Garden. This place is immense and there is always something new to see. Although during the cold winter days various shows and displays are not mostly indoors, in the summer the things to see outside multiply by 10 fold !!! Tickets are always available but if you planning on spending lots of time here, consider looking into buying an annual membership - it really has its benefits!
  • We have been before and enjoyed it. This time we went to see the Spiders Alive exhibit. While interesting it was a very small exhibit but they did have a live snake area where you were able to touch and hold the various snakes. Family pass for $40 taxes included is a good deal.
