Cambodian Cultural Village, Siem Reap

2.0
Cambodian Cultural Village recreates the traditions and lifestyles of the nation's many ethnic minorities through live performances, museums, food, and life-size replicas of villages and traditional houses. The guided tour begins with the wax museum, which displays lifelike sculptures of famous people and moments in Cambodian history. In the village, admire the various styles of houses of different tribes, including Khmer, Kreung, Cham, and others. A stroll around the miniature collection of famous buildings and sculptures compensates for those who don’t have time to see everything in real life, while the famous Apsara dance performances provide a dynamic highlight of the village. • Wonderful! Highly recommend! Beautiful place to spend whole day in Siem Reap. Amazing views, stunning performances, audio guide available in several languages (additional cost of $5). For those who may want an audio guide i would recommend to come in the morning, walk around and listen all the stories first as after 2.30 so much action, they are starting performances with 20min breaks in between each of them so it's basically enough time to reach different village for another performance. Audio guide is informative and 2 hours may needed to complete it. Evening time there is Buffet style dinner available in the restaurant within the cultural village. Good choice of tasty Cambodian meals and traditional performance on a stage for the cost of 12$.
  • A really interesting glimpse into Khmer culture, but a little underwhelming at times. There are lots of different sections representing ethnic minorities throughout Cambodia, but most buildings are not open for the public. Many artifacts are not well kept. The highlight of the experience is definitely the performances; make sure to go in the afternoon and early evening when most of them are scheduled. The traditional wedding is a must see.
