Home to various museums and monuments, Parque Ibirapuera is one of the city’s most important recreational and cultural areas. This green area features sprawling areas designated for picnicking, jogging, cycling, and walking. The park’s importance to the city, locals claim, is comparable to that of Central Park to the residents of New York City. One of Latin America’s largest urban parks, the site opened in 1954 to mark the 400th anniversary of the city. Many of the park’s buildings were designed by famed architect Oscar Niemeyer, while the landscaped green zones were planned by agronomist Otávio Agusto de Teixeira Mendes. The park is home to the Museum of Modern Art, Museum of Contemporary Art, and the iconic Obelisk of Sao Paolo, symbol of Brazil’s Constitutional Revolution. On the site there is how to know the schedules that roll there. And if you enjoy the museum, exit at Gate 4 through the ramp and meet the MASP of USP. Very rich art Museum.
Beautiful park with huge trees, lush plants, and well-maintained walkways and bicycle lanes. Several modern art pieces near the modern art museum, a few were closed for repair. Most of the park is closed to vehicles so you feel safe biking or walking with kids. Restrooms were clean and in good repair, and a few vendors peppered throughout the park made it possible to buy water, juice, or snacks. The coolest thing was the black swans. About a dozen of them, paddling serenely around the lake. Gorgeous. We rented bicycles for 7 reis per hour, and had a great time riding around.
A good place for a family picnic. I recommend going near the lake. You could watch the swans and other birds catching fishes. Bring your own food and water in case you get hungry or thirsty. Be mindful of the cyclists. They sometimes don't cycle on the bicycle lane.
