Hilma Hooker, Bonaire

Now the stuff of diving folklore, Hilma Hooker is often considered one of the best shipwreck dives in the Caribbean. The vessel sank in 1984 after a vast amount of marijuana was found onboard. Now the 70 m (229.6 ft) vessel lies on a sand flat between two coral reef systems commonly known as Angel City. In clear deep blue waters, circle the perimeter of this dramatic wreck then swim in for a closer look alongside shoals of tarpon and parrotfish. With depths varying from 20 m (65.6 ft) to 35 m (114.8 ft), the wreck has spots for both beginner and more advanced divers to explore.
