Though many people refer to WMDR Yungas Road as "Death Road," the unforgettable views prove a perennial attraction that you may find worth the risk. Considered the most dangerous road in the world, the mountainous highway between La Paz and Coroico claims the lives of up to 300 tourists every year, as buses and mountain bikes regularly fall off its unguarded edges.   • Most of the people who ride the Death road go there on an organized tour. I went solo cycling from La Paz. The descent starts at 4200 much higher than the entance. I chose to go down the dirt road...  more »
