  • An incredible place nestled precariously on a cliff. Seems to be an architectural marvel of sorts. One needs good fitness levels or has to be very inspired to attempt this trek. It took me over 21/2 hours to reach up there. While it is a bit demanding it is not impossible for someone with reasonable fitness levels. Best to start the trek by 7 am to beat the heat. The view from the top was more than worth all the efforts. The climb down is tricky and was a real test for my knees. While there are restrooms at the midway point near the cafeteria I did not see any restroom in any other place through the trail. Even if you cannot trek up to the top do at least go half way up. You can even do it on horseback till the cafeteria. The view from there is also breathtaking. It is a 'Not to be missed' place.
  • most beautiful monastery I've ever seen. perfect name - tigers nest. it looks like that. hike isn't bad. takes around 2 hours one way for an average hiker. beautiful views of valley along the way. it is definitely my favourite spot in the entire Bhutan. go early to avoid crowds as it can get very crowded due to it's popularity
  • Breathtaking place.. One of the dream destination for trekking lovers.. The view from the top is awesome.. Trek to reach 10,400 feet height took approximately 3 - 4 hours of course it varies according to individuals fitness level.. Nice handicraft shops at foot hill.. I will suggest walking stick instead of horseback..
  • It is monsoon season in July in Bhutan and it was raining the night before we climbed up to Taktsang. Came morning and the rain stopped for a bit for us to head uphill. The rain caused the path to be quite muddy, but walking up was doable. Coming down, we faced the rain once again. The slippery path was quite scary, but we still manage to complete the route (8.4 km. total distance & 900 m. in altitude gain) in 5+ hours. But had it not rain, we would not have seen the monastery with the fog and that was quite a stunning sight. The view from above alone was worth the hike, but inside the monastery was also rather intriguing. Overall, I would recommend the hike to everyone (with no respiratory or knee issue).
  • Good and must visit place for trekking lovers. Otherwise do check your physical fitness before you go. Place can be made better with providing basic amenities like toilet s etc on way. No signage anywhere indicating direction, distance etc. Persons from all ages can go but definitely difficult task
