  • We went to meet Xunantunich before returning to Belize city on a guided tour, the ruins surprise disregarded by the greatness of Mayan culture. We spent almost 3 hours learning about the Maya, their life, their culture. Very instructive.

  • Definitely worth a trip, no matter how you get there. I would recommend a tour guide, to give you a local perspective on the sight and so that you can listen the history rather than just reading it al...  more »

  • Great Mayan Archaeological site to check out. Many structures and plazas to see with the main Castillo towering over them. You can climb to the top of the Castillo and get a great view of the site and surrounding area. Get a good tour guide if you want to learn about the site and the Mayans occupation of the area. It is an active Archaeological site as well so you may get to see excavations taking place.
  • One of the best ruins I have seen. Stick around and you may see a monkey in the trees. Very beautiful structures and the art on the ruins is beautiful compared to some of the ruins without intricate carvings. 5$ US was definitely worth visit. Not as touristy and no food vendors:)
