Pay tribute to those who fell in Ypres in World War I at Tyne Cot Cemetery. There is also the "Memorial to the Missing," commemorating the soldiers who were never found. The cemetery is the resting place of the remains of the Commonwealth soldiers and a show of tribute by King Albert I of Belgium to the British forces that sacrificed their lives for Belgium. Notable graves include multiple soldiers posthumously awarded the Victoria's Cross for exceptional bravery. This honor is denoted with a Victoria Cross symbol on the soldier's gravestone. Very moving place with many graves. Many are honoured even if their names are not known. Definitely somewhere worth visiting and paying respects to. Lots of historic information available as well.
Very peaceful and well kept cemetery. The visitors center is worth a look too.
