Although the cathedral is usually the most impressive temple in the city, in the case of Liege, this is not fulfilled. No doubt Saint Jacques is the most beautiful church in the city. If we add that it is a little remote from the centre, the influx of tourists is less. Totally recommended.View original

Amazing gothic church. Closed on Monday

Perhaps the finest example of the flamboyant (late) gothic church architecture in the lowlands. Although the structure is fundamentally gothic in conception, the triforium, capitals and vaults are elaborate expressions of the Renaissance. Here the burghers of Liege demonstrated the wealth of their city to all visitors.
