SEA LIFE Blankenberge, Blankenberge

2.7
#2 of 6 in Zoos & Aquariums in West Flanders Province
With feeding times every hour, there are plenty of opportunities at SEA LIFE Blankenberge to see the animals in action. The shark tunnel puts you in the center of the predator's world. While the sharks get your adrenaline pumping, 49 other aquariums house more docile creatures of the sea. A seahorse breeding program has helped fill a tank with the delicate creatures, and playful seals make faces at you from their tank. For an extra fee you can take a photo with the seals in their home under the supervision of a staff member, but you must bring your own camera. Purchase tickets online for a discount on admission. • More than aging facilities. Presentations too noisy. Little development. 45 degrees. For 2 seniors and a 4-year-old. Cafeteria really unwelcoming. No interest except the seal care centre' unique in Belgium.

  • The park has a wide variety of aquatic animals. I'm always amazed when I look at them. I enjoyed seeing small sea lions that were collected on our beaches, and discovering their journey. However, I was a little disappointed with the size of the park. It seemed a bit small, and the visit was very short. I admit I was expecting a little bigger.

  • It's smaller than we expected. Decent enough variety of tanks and fish but it does feel like this place is in dire need of renovation but they're doing their best to delay any such expenditure as long as they can. Nice staff, our kid (3yo) enjoyed it and it was the best place to go when it was raining. I seriously question the logic behind Management's lack of signage for the queues though. Seriously people. Make 2 lanes out to the entry;. One for pre purchased tickets and the other for the ticket office.
  • A bit small but it was a good experience. They have a fine variety of sea creatures. Seals are very cute. Sealife does a good job at taking care of them. It's also nice of Sealife to accept fishes as well as other species from people who bought them but didn't foresee the size of the creatures when they grow. It may take you 1 to 1.5 hours to see everything. In general, it's a nice place to pay a visit.
