  • This was advertised as THE MARKET EXPERIENCE to get local handicrafts and souvenirs. Well, when we were there it was just a few shops open offering the exact same hats, tshirts and coconut...  more »
  • Huge straw market, lots of different types of souvenirs and nice people. I spent an hour or two walking through the different shop setups, found lots of really neat wooden ocean theme decorations.  more »

  • Fun and exciting! A bit different than the USA. A great experience. Totally focused on tourists. If you want the tourist experience this is a must. But for someone looking for a more local experience this is not what I would recommend. It is not easy to get a local point of view although the tourist vibe is everywhere and that is easy to achieve.
  • Downtown Nassau in general is a giant tourist trap and this is just more of the same. Vendors selling the same glasses, purses, frames and t-shirts. Nothing different or unique stall to stall. The one cool part is outside along the perimeter is the wood carving area. You can see them making and carving the wood to make sharks and fish etc.
