Wiener Riesenrad, a landmark on the Vienna skyline, is one of the earliest Ferris wheels ever built. The nearly 65 m (212 ft) tall Ferris wheel opened in 1897 in celebration of the Golden Jubilee of Emperor Franz Josef I. Enter one of the eight original wooden cabins that form the Wheel of History. The tour takes you through 2,000 years of the history of the capital city. Audio impressions and an enormous diorama tell the stories of the Prater, which brings a longstanding tradition back to life. • Good view. Slowly goes up because you are always stilhangt to load a new gondola in and out, here you have a quiet time to look.

  • Very pricy 12 € for one round about 10 min. NO CARD. However, the view on the top was a terrific, much better than the view on the cathedral! You can enjoy a panoramic view of Vienna. Also here you can take a drink or even have a dinner! I wish the price can be lower since it’s a such short trip
  • A wonderful place to look around great city of Vienna from a beautiful angle. The tickets are quite expensive though. I would say it's a nice experience on a sunny day.
