  • The West Gate Bridge Memoral Park commemorates the 35 construction workers killed when the West Gate Bridge collapsed on 11:50 am on 15 October 1970. It remains Australia's worst industrail accident.....  more »
  • It was the 15th of October 1970 that the span fell and at the memorial there are still flowers left to remember those who died in this an other industrial accidents.  more »
  • "We few, we happy few, we band of brothers" they died together, the 35. Always remember, respect and honour.
  • I remember when the bridge came down and after all these years never knew there was a memorial. Despite lots of cones around it and not being very welcoming I decided to explore anyway. I took a moment to remember what it must have been like but frankly I cannot comprehend what it must have been for those men and women who were involved in this tragedy. There is a nice park nearby to explore as well. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Small parking area.
