City Park Radio is a community radio station in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia, broadcasting on the frequency 103.7 FM and is a member of the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia.Our Launceston online attractions planner makes visiting City Park Radio Museum and other Launceston attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.
The station started broadcasting on 7 April 1986, from facilities in Newnham as 7LTN-fm. In 1988, the station moved to the 100-year-old City Park Cottage in Launceston's City Park and started using the name City Park Radio. In 1993, work was started on a new studio complex behind the cottage.
The music played on City Park Radio includes country, dance, hip hop, classical, jazz, alternative, rock, folk, musicals, blues and ethnic. The station also has non-music programming including news, discussion of issues such as the environment, women's issues, book reviews, job and training issues. The programming is also multicultural, with programs in over ten languages.
Inside the City Park Cottage is a radio museum, with over fifty radios dating from the early 1930s.
In September 1996, presenter Tim Moon broke the world record for "The Longest Single Continuous Broadcast By One Announcer". He was on air for 122 hours, 20 minutes and 3 seconds, breaking the previous record by just over 1 hour.

The City Park Radio Museum consists of over 50 Radios, dating back from the early 30’s, including:- Astor’s – Mickey Astor’s – Strom Burg Carlson – Chrysler – Phillips – AWA – HMV – Hot Point … and many more The City Park Radio Museum is located at the front entrance of the City Park Cottage, just inside the main gate of City Park on Tamar Street. The Cottage is over 100 years old, and was originally the Park Caretakers Cottage. A visit to our cottage will also enable you to see the oldest wisteria tree in Australia (165 years old). During 2004,the museum received an update with new shelving, display cases, lighting and signage. This fit-out has been made possible by a generous grant from the Tasmanian Community Fund.
